Rec: Various

Today is MLK day; I didn't go to class today so I can have an extra day to myself. My dad has a test tomorrow for his heart; I hope they find the problem that comes with a solution. My sister downloads some 70's bollywood music so I'm relaxing right now and I'm trying to be mellow for tomorrow.

Here some recs that I read a while ago. Hover over the link to get any warning(s).

The Hungers Games:

Gale/Katniss, R, ~13,216 words
Post-Mockingjay. I’m just not sure; not sure of anything but maybe death, pain, survival. I don’t wave back but I do watch him motionlessly until he’s just a speck of regret in the distance.

Wonderful what-if story, the portrayal of Katniss's mental heath got to me, the first person narrative works here.

Inception:
How to Know (or here, here) by [personal profile] citrinesunset
Arthur/Cobb, Mature/R, 22,000 words
Arthur builds a relationship with Cobb, which begins as casual sex between friends and gradually becomes more. But as it does so, Arthur's lack of confidence in Cobb weighs on him.

Arthur's jaw and tongue are starting to ache, but he doesn't stop. He strains his eyes upward, trying to look at Cobb's face without removing the cock from his mouth. Cobb's eyes are closed and his lips are parted. The usual lines are gone from his forehead and around his eyes, making him look five years younger. It might just be the light.

Arthur and Cobb having a relationship that is real, complicated and their parts in this fic that hurt my heart and Arthur is just as flaw as Cobb. The kids are real kids, horrible and great at the same time and love that this story was long, I miss reading this pairing.

Sherlock (BBC):
A Promising Start (or here) by [personal profile] morganstuart
Gen, PG, 442 words
She could learn a great deal from this man: what not to do, of course, but also what to do. This takes place approximately three years prior to events in "A Study in Pink."

Sally and Lestrade first meeting, it’s wonderful and the insight into their characters is great.

Triage (or here, here, here) by [personal profile] morganstuart
Gen, PG-13, ~1,800 words
Donovan didn't want to see this, and Sherlock didn't want to be seen – especially by her – this way. This takes place between events in the first and second series of Sherlock.

Sally is my favorite and I just love it when someone writes her.

Mistaken for Strangers by [livejournal.com profile] knowmydark
Sherlock/John, Sherlock/Moriarty, M, 8,088 words
Six months ago, a bomb went off in central London and Sherlock scented blood.

This is everything I wanted in Sherlock and Moriarty story, the unrequited emotions, both in character and being horrible people, love it.

Supernatural:
A Conviction of Angels by [livejournal.com profile] affablyevil
Dean, Sam, Castiel, PG-13
"Another Radio Song" by Okkervil River. "This isn't the first planetary enema we've delivered." When Zachariah traps Sam and Dean in an alternate universe where they are not themselves, they seek help from an old friend they haven't met yet.

This video definitely tells it own story, it made me feel like this was a different show, there is so much going, that I can't help watching this vid over and over again.
